How do I sync up my email to my mobile device? (Email on Smart Phones & Tablets)

Follow the below steps as mentioned:

APPLE: (APPLE MAIL APP)

  • Go to Settings
  • Scroll down to Mail then choose Accounts
  • Select Add Account
  • From the menu, choose Microsoft Exchange
  • Username: your full myMU email address (for example: username@misericordia.edu)
  • Description: A name to describe this account (for example: Misericordia, MU, school, work, etc.)
  • Select Next at the top right then choose Sign In. (NOT configure manually)
  • Next, enter your myMU password
  • On the next screen you will choose what settings you want to be synced to your account. Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, etc. then choose Save.
  • Your mailbox is now setup.
  • Open your Mail app to view email.

*Please Note: If you change your myMU password, you will need to update your password on this account.

Note: To Turn Off Conversation/Focused Inbox: Go into Settings on the phone (not in the Mail App). Scroll down to Mail and toggle OFF “Organize by Thread.”

APPLE: (OUTLOOK APP)

  • Open the App Store and search for Outlook
  • Install the Microsoft Outlook app.
  • Open the Outlook app and enter your full myMU email address and then select Add Account.
  • On the next page, enter your myMU password in the box and select Continue
  • Your mailbox is now setup.
  • Outlook will automatically open your Inbox.

Note: To Turn Off Conversation/Focused Inbox: -Turn off Focused Inbox. You may notice at the top of the Inbox page you can toggle on/off Focused or Other. Make sure that your account is selected to Other. Another way is to go into the settings menu, and swipe down to the Mail category and toggle Focused Inbox to Off.

ANDROID: (SAMSUNG EMAIL APP)

  • Go to Settings then to Accounts and Backup
  • Select Account. -Add Account.
  • Select Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
  • Email Address: your full myMU email address (for example: username@misericordia.edu)
  • Password: your myMU password *case sensitive*
  • Select Sign In.
  • An Apply Security Settings box will appear.
  • Select Apply.
  • Then a list of options will be displayed.
  • Email Sync Period: How far back do you want to view your emails.
  • Email Sync Schedule: How often you want to sync the emails coming in.
  • Select Done.
  • Account Name: Enter a name to describe this account (for example: Misericordia, MU, school, etc.)
  • Select Done. (By default, your full email address will be displayed.
  • We would encourage you to change it to something different from any other accounts you may have).

Note: Turn Off Conversation/Focused Inbox: *Go into the mail Settings and check the View setting. Make sure it is set to Standard. If Conversation is selected, change it to Standard.

GOOGLE:

  • Go to Settings then select Users & Accounts
  • Select Add account.
  • Select Exchange.
  • Email Address: your full myMU email address *(for example: username@misericordia.edu)
  • Select Next. -Enter your myMU password in the box that appears on the next window.
  • On the next screen, select Activate this device Admin App to allow your account to be added.
  • Account name: enter a name that would best describe this account. For example, Misericordia or MU. (By default, your full email address will be displayed.
  • We would encourage you to change it to something different from any other accounts you may have).
  • Follow the onscreen prompts and your account will be added.

Note: Turn Off Conversation/Focused Inbox: – *Go into the mail Settings and select General Settings. Look for Conversation View and Uncheck the box, then you can close out of the settings.
